This Mumuye mask dates from the first half-20th century and was purchased in my private collection in 2013, with a certificate of authenticity.

The Mumuyé are better known for their beautiful Iagalagana sculptures and also produce, among other things, these masks, which are much rarer and more sought after.These masks play an important role in the social system of this ethnic group.
