Extremely Rare Large Olive wood 18th century Ethiopian Coptic Hand Cross from the orthodox coptic Church.
This wooden cross measures approximately 67 cm high and and 16 cm wide.
This cross is more then 250 years old and very nice old patina.
This Coptic olive wooden cross is dated from the mid of the 18th century and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Extremely rare Large and beautiful crucifix from Ethiopia. It is carved from wood and shows a beautiful patina of use. In addition, it still has the original paint. The two sides have different designs, including square crosses that are characteristic of Ethiopian religious symbolism. The central part of this crucifix was formerly reinforced with a nailed metal plate.
The Ethiopian church the cross is not only a symbol for Christi suffering and death, is more importantly still its meaning than indications of the resurrection.
